thank you very much, i appreciate the kind words. i’m still pretty new to photography myself and right now i use a little fixed lens canon s95 and shoot mostly in manual. it has been great for me so far and takes nice shots considering its size and other limitations. i don’t really do much promotion, on here or otherwise. i’ve announced the few shows i’ve had on here and that’s about it. i think most people have found my blog through reblogs. i would recommend finding some other tumblr photographers who do portrait work and see what they are doing and find a niche and community for yourself to try and get your work out there. also, tag your pics and maybe set up a separate tumblr w/ some of your better/favorite work to have available if people want to buy prints. i set up one pretty easily and it has gone well so far. lastly, apply to some local shows and try to take your shots offline. it’s cool to see your work on a computer, but seeing your stuff in print is still better/much more fulfilling. good luck!
